Primary purpose:
The primary responsibility of this position is the organization and analysis of unit information obtained from leases, agreements, drilling and division order title opinions, title requirements, curative, and other land related documents. This information is used to create divisions of interest for the purposes of billing, revenue disbursements, division/transfer orders, including the set up and maintenance of revenue, JIB, marketing, insurance, take in kind and all other related decks.
- Serves as a technical lead for Division Order system implementation, evaluate potential vendors and lead product selection based on identified system needs.
- Analyze, calculate, and maintain ownership and division of interest utilizing title opinions, leases, deeds, probate proceedings, curative, etc.
- Establish, update, and maintain joint interest billing and revenue division of interests.
- Assist with acquisition, divestiture, due diligence, internal/external audits, data conversion and other special projects.
- Interact with working interest owners, pore space owners, contractual partners, mineral owners and Governmental Agencies to answer complex inquiries and provide information.
- Analyze and input new agreements (leases, easements, permits, rights-of-way, and deeds) into Quorum Land System.
- Process ownership changes and agreement maintenance.
- Prepare audit reports ensuring the highest levels of data accuracy.
- Prepare files for scanning, scanning, and indexing in Dynamic Docs.
- Research uncashed checks, prepare letters to landowners and work with accounting to escheat money to the state if needed.
- Create and implement processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal counterparts in ROW, Accounting, Legal, Operations, Internal Audit and IT.
- Seek opportunities to innovate, continuously improve processes and look for efficiencies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- 7 years of experience working as a Division Order or Land Analyst at an oil and gas exploration and production company or midstream energy company. Midstream experience preferred.
- Experience in using Quorum Land System (QLS, QRA, QQM, Dynamic Docs).
- Strong knowledge of terms in Land Contracts, (i.e.) Title Opinions, Pooling Agreements, Joint Operating Agreements, etc.
- Working knowledge of Federal and State regulatory and statutory rules affecting the Division Order process.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
