  • Position Overview

    This position is a full-time permanent leadership position of a hybrid approach of onsite and remote work using professional judgment.

    The Information Technology Director will play a pivotal role in the overall development of the Information Technology strategy for the Mitro US organization. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced hands-on Information Technology Director to lead the design and implementation of technology and technology-related services for our new facility in New Haven CT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Information Technology, a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, and the ability to manage and implement technology solutions that support our mission.

    MITRO Biotech Co., Ltd. is a molecular imaging contract research organization (MI-CRO) company in China. MITRO provides outstanding contract research for new drug development using radiolabeling and molecular imaging techniques. MITRO provides integrated solutions, including evaluation of potential therapeutics, biodistribution, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. MITRO provides translational research using a wide range of non-clinical through Phase 0 clinical trial services. MITRO’s focus includes but is not limited to: cancer, coronary heart disease, Alzheimer disease, epilepsy, Parkinson disease, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, gene expression, and stem cell research.

    MITRO Biotech Co., Ltd.’s acquisition of XingImaging, LLC in September 2023 brought with it an active expansion to offer early through late phase PET clinical imaging and clinical services to industry sponsors and researchers for advancement of new imaging tracers for evaluation of diagnostic indicators, disease progression, and therapeutic medicines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Leadership and Strategy:

    • Provide strategic leadership in aligning IT initiatives with business goals and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with company management to develop and implement IT strategies that enhance operational efficiency and support future growth.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure that all IT processes and systems comply with relevant regulatory standards, including but not limited to FDA regulations, GCP, GLP, GMP, and international regulations such as GDPR.
    • Keep abreast of changes in regulations and update IT policies and procedures accordingly.

    Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
    • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of IT staff.

    Project Management:

    • Direct and manage IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
    • Develop and implement project management methodologies to enhance project delivery.

    Infrastructure and Security:

    • Manage the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security.
    • Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to safeguard sensitive data and comply with industry standards.

    Hands-On Technical Involvement:

    • Actively participate in hands-on technical tasks, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
    • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend their adoption when appropriate.

    Vendor Management:

    • Evaluate and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
    • Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements, and ensure cost-effective solutions.

    Technology Innovation:

    • Evaluate emerging technologies and tools relevant to molecular imaging research, proposing and implementing innovative solutions to enhance data accuracy, processing speed, and overall research efficiency.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technological innovation within the IT team.

    Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for IT systems, ensuring the organization's ability to recover critical data and operations in the event of disruptions.

    Training and Education:

    • Design and implement training programs for end-users and IT staff on new technologies, software, and security best practices.
    • Stay informed about advancements in molecular imaging research and educate the IT team on relevant industry trends.

    Documentation and Compliance Audits:

    • Maintain thorough documentation of IT processes, configurations, and security measures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Serve as subject matter expert for regular internal audits by the QA group which will assess compliance with established policies and procedures, making necessary adjustments to address any identified gaps, as well as for external audits by sponsors and other company customers.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    · Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

    · Proven experience (5 years) in a leadership role within IT, preferably in a clinical research or healthcare environment.

    · Deep knowledge of regulatory compliance in molecular imaging research, including FDA regulations, GCP, and GLP, and international regulations such as GDPR.

    · Strong project management skills with a track record of successful IT project implementations.

    · Experience in managing and implementing secure and scalable IT infrastructures.

    · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

    · Embodies ethics and integrity in all work, respecting research codes, employees, as well as company and broader community policies in all conduct.

    · Strong commitment to the team; maintains positive working relationships with diverse people, including internal team and external partners.

    · Relevant certifications such as CISSP, PMP, or CISM would be an advantage.
