Information Technology Specialist II

    Summary:

    The position of IT Specialist II exists to provide technical system hardware and software support, computer system development, use and/or maintenance and to solve technical systems problems. IT Specialist II are responsible for installing and maintaining operating systems hardware and software. IT Specialist II are also responsible for installing and maintaining, backups processing, planning and maintaining the virtual, and physical network infrastructure. New branch and LPO IT deployment workflows development.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Modifies, installs, and maintains operating software and related equipment to provide efficient utilization with minimum down time.
    • Identifies and solves system operating problems.
    • Provides technical assistance to staff
    • Prepares and presents instruction to personnel
    • Continues to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
    • Setup and install computer hardware and software, including printers and related peripherals.
    • Perform maintenance and repairs on computer hardware, including backup, recovery and equipment cleaning.
    • Respond to and resolve inquiries and complaints
    • Monitor operational performance and troubleshoot system problems. Isolate the cause of system failures.
    • Train users on computer hardware and software
    • Research and purchase computer and network equipment hardware/software.
    • Setup and maintain information on the internal and external web site.
    • Assist the Chief Operations Officer ensure the security of the Bank’s core processing system. Ensure that employee/users have access only to those functions required to perform their jobs, and that all access is controlled by the Security Officer. Ensure that passwords are required for access and each user is responsible for creating personal passwords. Ensure that system security requires passwords to be changed periodically.
    • Ensure the uptime availability and integrity of the Bank’s core processing system, as well as the uptime availability, security and integrity of the Bank’s network.
    • Oversee core system maintenance. Ensure that temporary fixes, upgrades and year end programs are applied to the core system software as required, notifying affected users prior to system changes.
    • Develop plans for installing and rolling out new applications and products, including but not limited to deposit, teller, or loan platform systems.
    • Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings to ensure entire staff is aware of the senior management group’s concerns, successes, and upcoming activities. Conduct regularly scheduled meetings with direct report staff to discuss and follow up on issues, status, roadblocks, status etc.
    • Assist Security Officer, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with plans and maintains for the data center environment; including hardware and software for host, and virtual machines. This includes capacity planning for growth of the bank, as planned and/or needed.
    • Assist Chief Operations Officer or Security Officer, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with developing and maintaining a functional email environment for internal bank customers.
    • Assist Chief Operations Officer in creating a short term and long term technology plan. Forecast bank needs and prepare expenditure requests for presenting to Board for approval. Develop disaster recovery and contingent operations plans to ensure business resumption.
    • Work with Precision Support staff for any and all problems pertaining to the Precision Operating Systems.
    • Assist Bank customers with any questions or issues pertaining to Internet Banking, Bill Pay, Telebank and Remote Merchant Capture.
    • Setup and maintain networking infrastructure which included branch to branch connectivity and external connections to vendors.
    • Monitor and maintain the backup solution for the banks IT environment.
    • Oversee the bank’s patching system to include monthly report preparation, patch distribution, and compliance monitoring.
    • Assist in maintaining the bank’s server and virtual server environment including application installation and monitoring, database management, and policy compliance.
    • Maintains the bank’s workstation and laptop imaging system.
    • Oversee the banks IT Helpdesk ensuring the timely resolution of incidents and requests, software updates, vendor issues, uptime, and reporting.
    • Assist with the bank’s overall cybersecurity function, ensuring the safety of sensitive information, monitoring anti-malware and intrusion prevention systems, being proactive in security incident resolution, and working with applicable vendors including the bank’s Security Operations Center (SOC).
    • Responsible for project management as it related to projects assigned by the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 4-year College degree (or substitutable education)
    • 3-5 years training and/or experience working with computers, servers, LAN or WAN networks, and other core processing systems
    • Good interpersonal skills and knowledge of appropriate customer service
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff, management and customers
    • Organized and detail oriented; ability to prioritize the activities of the IT department
    • Ability to maintain confidential information

    This position interacts with other employees, customers, members of management, holding company officers, regulatory representatives and vendors.
