We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Controller to join our team and contribute to the growth and success of our dynamic organization.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. This is a brand-new position, which gives you the exciting opportunity to help shape the role and the future progress of Myriad!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist management with important financial decisions and ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial information.
- Build and prepare financial documents, including business reports, financial forecasts, statements, and tax filings.
- Keep up-to-date on the financial market to understand how to maximize profits and find new expansion areas.
- Provide regular financial reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and trends.
- Establish and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and minimize financial risk.
- Supervise, lead, and train accounting personnel.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, financial reporting standards, and industry-specific regulations.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Assist in building and maintaining departmental budgets.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or Business preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounting or a related field.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and techniques.
- High level of proficiency with computer-based accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex tax issues to clients.
- Experience in tax accounting, tax compliance, or tax auditing.
