The role you’ll contribute:

The Executive Director of Operations works closely with the Chief Operating Officer in developing strategic and operational plans that align the regional priorities with the organization's mission and vision. In addition, he/she is responsible for assessing organizational and cultural needs, processes, and communication that enhance the overall culture of the team and help facilitate improved organizational performance and relationships.

The Executive Director of Operations is responsible for direction and oversight of the daily operations of the following departments: Facilities, EVS, Nutritional Services, Security/Safety, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Oncology, Radiology, Business Development, Wound Care, Sleep Lab and other services as requested. Regularly attends clinical and operational campus accountability meetings as required.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Serves as an active business partner with the executive team in the deployment of the strategic agenda, while providing professional, confidential and efficient executive and business support

• Supports the Executive team in completion of critical projects including, but not limited to, ongoing tracking, progress/milestone accountability and reporting, and presentations to Boards, committees, internal and external audiences

• Ability to think strategically, anticipate future consequences and trends, and incorporate them into the organizational plan

• Participate in strategic planning process, always striving for efficiency and quality

• Develops strategies to improve scorecard performance

• Develops engagement and communication strategies with leaders, employees, and physicians

• In partnership with the HR Business Partner, develops communication strategies, events, and operational plans to engage employees and physicians

• Provides executive leadership for ancillary services departments as directed.

• Ensures Leadership is managing according to hospital department policies and procedures, ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.

• Routinely serves as Administrator on Call (AOC) for the hospital.

• Develops strategies and corresponding success metrics collaboratively with leaders to ensure service line success.

• Works proactively and independently showing initiative and problem-solving skills, consulting with Administration and seeking advice when appropriate for situation outside authority or expertise.

• Monitors and evaluates effectiveness of programs and makes recommendations as appropriate.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• The Executive Director of Operations will provide executive leadership for ancillary services departments, including Facilities, EVS, Nutritional Services, Security/Safety, Orthopedics, Cardiology, Oncology, Radiology, Wound Care, Sleep Lab, Business Development, and other services as requested. Serves as a team leader with the ability to create a positive working environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or related field.

• At least 3 years' experience in physician relations, project management, strategic planning, and/or business development.

• Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of healthcare administration, as well as a strong understanding and knowledge of healthcare industry

• Knowledge of and appropriate implementation of applicable regulatory standards, rules and guidelines: Joint Commission, AOA, and other related agencies.

• Knowledge of acute-care hospital operations, finance and management

• Professional decision-making and proposing recommendations on organizational culture development

• Ability to meet and build relationships effectively with all stakeholders: executives, leaders, physicians and the community

• Considerable knowledge of management principles, supervision, planning, budgeting, healthcare finance, and personnel

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Nursing, Hospital or Business Administration or other appropriate field

• Five years progressive experience leading teams to high performance.
