    ADMINISTRATIVE RECEPTIONIST

    Michael Maltzan Architecture is seeking a highly motivated administrative receptionist to join our Los Angeles office. Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as coordination and organizational skills. The candidate should have the drive to work in an intensely collaborative and creative architectural environment.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Answering phones and greeting clients and guests.
    • Organizing meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, and organizing catering when necessary.
    • Manage complex and ever-changing calendars and coordinate meetings.
    • Handle detailed travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and itineraries, and prepare expense reports.
    • Preparing outgoing mail and courier packages.
    • Ordering / restocking kitchen supplies and maintaining a neat and orderly kitchen
    • Ordering and setting up catering for meetings and running errands as needed.
    • Maintaining architectural library and ordering material samples for projects.
    • Assisting Architects and Designers with various project-related administrative duties including preparation of letters, spreadsheets, proposals, specifications, etc.
    • Support marketing and business development efforts including RFPs, RFQs, interviews, presentations, and related content.

    Requirements:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
    • Strong editing and proofreading skills.
    • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) is preferred.
    • Proficiency in MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Ability to maintain focus and confidence under tight deadlines and varying workloads.

    ENTRY LEVEL ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT DESIGNER

    Michael Maltzan Architecture is seeking an entry-level architectural project designer to join our Los Angeles office. Candidates must be passionate about architecture, eager to learn, and excited about contributing to a team.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Work with the Design Principal and project team(s) on all phases of design work, from concept through design development;
    • Work with project teams in executing presentations and production of all design work;
    • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings;
    • Produce physical models;
    • Assist in internal team coordination and support coordination with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies;
    • Contribute to office activities and initiatives.

    Requirements:

    • Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve both individually and as a part of a project team;
    • Outstanding graphic presentation skills;
    • Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, including AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, Adobe Suite;
    • Proficiency in physical model making;
    • Basic knowledge of materials, construction methods, and building codes;
    • Strong organization skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at the same time;
    • Ability to communicate design ideas and direction clearly and effectively.

    ARCHITECTURAL INTERN

    MMA is accepting applications for students or recent graduates to join the office as interns for a maximum 12 week period. Work ranges from assisting the project teams with CAD, physical modeling (from study models to presentation models), digital modeling, renderings, videos and animations, graphic presentation, and design studies. Applicants must have excellent academic standing, experience with a wide range of computer design applications, and strong physical model making skills.
