Responsibilities:
· Have technical knowledge and experience in defining needs and requirements for test equipment, machinery and specialized fixtures for manufacturing.
· Provide design or component level solutions and processes to increase efficiencies in production.
· Assess effectiveness of manufacturing processes and make recommendations to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
· Design and/or refine product development, testing, and manufacturing processes such as plastic mold design, materials analysis, and pneumatics.
· Manage staff and assign tasks to engineering personnel and lead teams in the development of new products, solutions, and processes.
· Collaborate with Quality Assurance to meet customer quality requirements.
· Help to create and oversee project budgets and engage in cost management strategies.
· Attend trade shows and conferences, and make site visits to suppliers’ facilities.
· Communicate technical information to investors and potential customers. Forge and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.
· Assure that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines including EPA and OSHA requirements.
· Collaborate with other manufacturing managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across teams.
· Create reports to give updates and propose budgets for various projects.
· Provide guidance and oversight in development and execution of plant renovations and expansions; coordinate with outside contractors and vendors.
Qualifications:
· Ability to effectively use technical tools such as test equipment, computers, and related software.
· Self-motivated with the ability to interact with co-workers in a highly dependent team environment.
· Interpersonal and supervisory skills to manage and lead a team of engineers.
· Thorough understanding of plant engineering, industrial engineering, and tooling.
· Strong analytical, math and problem-solving skills.
· Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, or equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering field, required and at least five years of supervisory experience preferred.
