Top Clinical Information Systems Executive establishes strategic direction, policies, and procedures for the organization's clinical information systems with the goal of improving clinical operations. Guides the selection, development, and implementation of systems designed to effectively manage medical information and meet the needs of patient care staff. Being a Top Clinical Information Systems Executive coordinates between IT and clinical staff in order to ensure effective integration of clinical systems with other institutional applications. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Top Clinical Information Systems Executive typically reports to top management. The Top Clinical Information Systems Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Working Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm
Summary:
Works with the Baptist Health User community in the evaluation, selection, design/tailoring, testing and implementation of clinical information systems. Provides ongoing support for problem resolution and application modifications including new releases. Works independently on less complex clinical systems projects and under general supervision on elements of major or complex clinical systems. Following a period of orientation, starts to specialize in a particular function/user area of the clinical system. Assists users with basic trouble shooting/problem solving and coaches users in the use of clinical systems. Following orientation, provides on call support for the productional system on a scheduled basis.

Skills: Requires strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, leadership skills, presentation skills, organizational skills and attention to detail. Requires strong customer service orientation and knowledge of clinical workflow. Must have basic computer/software skills with an aptitude for enhancing those skills in the area of Clinical systems use. Must have ability to work with minimal direction on assigned projects. Can handle multiple priorities and lead/facilitate groups. Knowledgeable about current trends/practices and healthcare. Basic knowledge of healthcare regulatory guidelines (Joint Commission, State Health department, etc).
Education/Credentials: Graduation from a state approved program which prepares enrollees for a professional level clinical role (i.e. nursing, medical technology, rehabilitative therapy, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, clinical dietetics, etc.). Requires current state licensure/registration in the respective field if it is a requirement of that field. Bachelors degree is preferred. If candidate does not have a bachelors degree, then 3 years or more of healthcare/clinical experience will be considered in lieu of the degree.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience required.
Certification: Epic certification is preferred, If not pre-certified, then certification required 6 months post hire date. All certification and licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment.
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
