Guides the selection, development, and implementation of systems designed to effectively manage medical information and meet the needs of patient care staff. Being a Top Clinical Information Systems Executive coordinates between IT and clinical staff in order to ensure effective integration of clinical systems with other institutional applications. Requires a master's degree. Additionally, Top Clinical Information Systems Executive typically reports to top management. The Top Clinical Information Systems Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.
