Description
The Brokerage Director of Business Development takes full ownership of the sales process with responsibility for identifying and developing new business opportunities, negotiating and securing pricing agreements, and establishing lasting industry partnerships. This position collaborates closely with Chariot Logistics team members to design solutions for a remarkable customer experience. This position is charged to hunt new customers, bundle Chariot Logistics portfolio of products and services, and generate multiple new revenue streams. Bi-quarterly travel will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Leverage research and lead generation tools to facilitate prospecting efforts for securing new business that aligns with Chariot Logistics business model.
Build and maintain a consistently robust pipeline, reporting to Chariot Logistics leadership weekly.
Present customers with innovative supply chain solutions through a consultative sales approach.
Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, while understanding how to align client needs with strategic solutions.
Retain a strong understanding of industry trends and developments with keen ability to identify and effectively communicate new market opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or relevant field.
A strong solution seller with minimum 3 years of experience in outside sales; preferably in the Freight Brokerage, warehousing, drayage, NVOCC, freight forwarding, or maritime industry.
An exceptional relationship builder with excellent verbal and written communication, organization skills, and an entrepreneurial mentality.
Experienced with use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
A self-motivator fully accountable for results with a proven track record of successfully developing and closing new business deals.
Strong work ethic with an understanding of, and adherence to, Chariot Logistics mission and core values in all business decisions and interactions.
Existing relationships with industry organizations, Industry vendors, TMS companies, and shippers.
