    The opportunity: The Director, Actuarial is responsible for planning, directing, and managing product pricing, and other major company efforts to help meet profit and growth objectives for our Group Long Term Disability, Group Short Term Disability, Group Term Life, and Absence blocks of business.

    Responsibilities include pricing, product development, experience review and analysis, and state regulatory filings. In this role you will also have significant interactions with our carrier partners.

    How you will contribute:

    • Plan, direct, and manage Group Disability product pricing
    • Evaluate, monitor and report actuarial operating performance, communicating to carrier partners, senior management, management and employees
    • Keep pricing responsive to market trends and actively engage product management to keep products positioned in the market
    • Evaluate and recommend processes in product management to improve quality and efficiency of business
    • Prepare and present to carrier partners on experience results, market trends, new product features, and on other topics related to pricing and product development
    • Provide leadership and direction to others, develop and monitor performance of others

    What you will bring with you:

    • Ability to work with a diverse range of people
    • 5 Years of actuarial experience
    • FSA preferred
    • Bachelor's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related fields
    • Active status in the Society of Actuaries and American Academy of Actuaries
    • Thorough knowledge of actuarial and risk management processes and a complete understanding of factors that influence insurance profitability
    • Ability to present confidently in front of senior management and clients
    • Strong leadership abilities to inspire and coach employees. This includes recruiting, selecting, training, motivating and leading staff
    • Ability to develop strong working relationships with carrier partners and employees in other departments
    • Ability to create and communicate strategic direction in the assigned actuarial operating area

    If you are a California resident, the salary range for this position is:

    • Southern region: $160,000-$240,000 annually
    • Central region: $168,700-$253,100 annually
    • Northern region: $180,300-$270,500 annually

    If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is $152,700-$229,100 annually.

    If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $180,300-$270,500 annually.

    If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is $168,700-$253,100 annually.
