The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our client. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Payroll Clerk responsibilities

    • Process payroll for clients on a regular basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Calculate Earnings, deductions, Employee and Employer taxes, and other payroll-related payments accurately.
    • Maintain employee records and ensure that all payroll information is up-to-date.
    • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters in a timely and professional manner.
    • Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposits to employees.
    • Prepare payroll reports for accounting as needed.
    • Collaborate to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Stay up-to-date with relevant payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
    • Familiar with tracking and recording employee benefits
    • Have knowledge recording payroll journal entries
    • Ability to reconcile payroll reports to payroll tax returns and to accounting system
    • Record, track & calculate payroll garnishments.
    • Manage Sick Time, Vacation Time & Personal Time for multiple entities.
    • Assist in Worker Comp Audits
    • Assist with other payroll administrative tasks as needed.

    Payroll Clerk skills

    • Proven minimum two years' experience as a payroll clerk or in a similar role.
    • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
    • Knowledge of ADP platform is preferred but not required.
    • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations is a plus.
    • Certificate or degree in accounting, finance, payroll or a related field is preferred.
    • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 40 per week
