Maintenance Supervisor/Technician

Quality Tool’s Brookings location is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Supervisor/Technician. This position requires a high level of mechanical aptitude. This position is for the day shift with a minimum work schedule of 7:00am to 3:30pm Mon – Fri. This position must be willing to be flexible on the daily schedule and willing to work overtime as needed to ensure support of operations to include support for 2nd shift and the weekend shift.
Position Description:
A Quality Tool Maintenance Supervisor/Technician will work both independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production (press brakes, punch presses, misc. fabrication equipment, CNC machining centers, Haegers, etc.) and facilities equipment, to ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. Maintain equipment performance and operation in order to minimize downtime. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Repair and maintenance of mechanical and electrical aspects of machinery.
· Organize, coordinate, and manage daily/weekly Maintenance Work Order requests to ensure timely completion.
· Repair devices such as PLC’s, switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
· Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and keep documentation current.
· Research sources for replacement part and order those parts.
· Decide on who and when to use outside service for repairs. Maintain contact list.
· Follow OSHA safety regulations.
· Other duties as assigned or required to meet customer or business needs.
· Address maintenance request forms by priority.
Qualifications Desired:
· High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
· Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate are an asset.
· Demonstrated Maintenance Supervisor/lead experience in a manufacturing setting.
· Minimum of 6 years experience in the troubleshooting and repair of sheet metal fabrication equipment, CNC Machining equipment, or similar equipment is desired.
· Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Software is a plus.
· Ability to write repair reports as well as good verbal communication.
· Able to read wiring schematics.
· PLC experience is required.
· Basic facility maintenance is required.
· Troubleshoot wiring, motor controls, sensors, and photo eyes.
· Must have good working skills on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
· Must possess maintenance mechanic skills with a strong electrical background. Knowledge of AC-DC motors and associated controls; 1 and 3 phase wiring distribution systems, lighting systems, and computer control systems.
· Ability to lead, drive, and be responsive to the daily needs of operations and the facility.
· Ability to maintain safe work environment.
· Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution.
