Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Summary of the CNC Machinist/Tool & Die Maker position:

- Shift: 1st, Monday - Thursday, 5 AM - 3:30 PM (10-hour shifts)

- The CNC Machinist/Tool and Die Maker is responsible for fabricating and maintaining fixturing, tooling and dies for the CNC, welding, and assembly departments. This role involves collaborating with the Manufacturing Engineer to develop manufacturing solutions demonstrating proficiency in CNC machining equipment and ensuring equipment maintenance.
- Build operational fixturing, tooling, and dies based on departmental requirements.
- Collaborate with the production team to address fixturing and tooling concerns.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to devise creative solutions for tooling, fixturing, and overall processes.
- Read and interpret drawings (CAD prints), operator manuals, job orders and procedural instructions.
- Utilize measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, depth gauges and bore gauges.
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Potentially collaborate with the Maintenance department in creating machine repair components.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts (optional).
- Be adaptable to assigned or changing responsibilities as directed by management.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent (Highly recommended).
- 5 years of Tool and Die experience preferred; CNC Mills and CNC Lathes education/experience accepted.
- Proficient in basic math skills, CNC lathe, mills and drills operation.
- Program Logic Control (PLC) training; MIG welding skills a plus.
- Knowledge of hydraulic components and PLC procedures.
