Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Our facilities boast over 40 stamping presses, a state-of-the-art powder coating line, robotic welding, cosmetic stainless-steel finishing and numerous assembly operations.
Precision Metal Works has an immediate opening for a Tooling Team Leader. This role is responsible to oversee the team of Tooling Technicians that repair and maintain tooling and fixtures to the required safety, quality and production standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·· Help with any die issues including press calls, dies in shop and PM tools
· Make sure all press calls are responded to promptly
· Keep tool makers busy and help with decision making on work being done on dies
· Make sure tool makers are doing their paper work properly and completely
· Work with production lead on jobs coming up and jobs needed to insure tools are ready for production
