Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Summary : Operate conventional machine shop equipment while building, repairing and preparing injection mold tooling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
This position reports directly to and will receive direction from the Machine Shop Supervisor.
Primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following :

Qualifications :
Education and / or Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent and Trade School certification preferred. Minimum of 2 years machine shop experience in a machine shop.
Language Skills : Ability to read and comprehend sufficient English to follow work instructions and engineering drawings.
Must be able to communicate well verbally with others.
Mathematical Skills : Basic mathematical skills and a solid understanding of engineering drawings / tolerances is required.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to resolve complex problems.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : Must be able to meet requirements for a forklift license.
