Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor jobs in Indiana
Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker with Job Shop experience to join our team. As a Tool and Die Maker, you will be responsible for building, and repairing various types of tools, and fixtures used in the manufacturing process. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills and attention to detail.Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces.
- Assemble Tools and Fixtures, use milling machines, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines to fabricate parts as needed.
- Inspect finished tools, or fixtures for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
- Test completed tools or fixtures to ensure they meet quality standards
- Troubleshoot issues with tools or fixtures and make necessary repairs or modifications
- Collaborate with engineers and design personnel to optimize tooling designs for efficiency and effectiveness.Experience:
- Job Shop experience as a Tool and Die Maker
- Experience working with hand tools and precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with milling machines, lathes, grinders, and CNC machines
- Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints
- Excellent problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
- Strong math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and material propertiesWe offer competitive pay based on experience.
