Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. This is a full time position in a team environment developing and maintaining various types of manufacturing tools and fixtures.
Candidate must be able to work in the shop as well as in the pressroom on progressive and forming dies. Ability to maintain tooling in good working order to produce quality parts while the die is in production as well as complete preventative maintenance is required.
Candidate must have a working knowledge of a variety of die types and have troubleshooting ability. Candidate should also have the skills to use common toolroom equipment such as grinders, milling machines, lathe, and CNC experience is a plus.
