JOB SUMMARY
Seeking an experienced engineering leader for Electrical Controls, Instrumentation & Automation (I&A) Design Department. In this role, you will manage a team of project engineers located in Miamisburg Ohio. You will collaborate with project managers, business development, sales, and other key departments and have a vision for growth.
Contribute at both a strategic and functional leadership level to produce innovative and creative solutions to client problems and be fully accountable for the successful completion of engineering, testing, delivery, start-up, and implementation of applications for Instrumentation, Industrial Automation, and Equipment solutions. This position requires significant control system knowledge, including multiple control platforms and applications.
Responsibilities include:
· Manage a diverse engineering team with a mix of capabilities and talent to meet and exceed customer expectations for project delivery.
· Aligning engineering activities and resources to execute projects consistent with company goals and objectives.
· Track, analyze, and improve engineering execution delivery in cost, schedule adherence, and quality.
· Leading the Engineering team through management and mentorship.
· Developing and coaching the engineering team members. Maintain a capability matrix of the engineering team members & associated training plan.
· Providing technical guidance to engineering teams and top management.
· Contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and training activities.
· Develop and Manage a Sub-Contractor network to align with needed skill sets as needed to supplement Engineering Team.
· Developing standards and procedures to ensure that quality standards are met and consistent.
· Preparing and optimizing budgets.
· Recommending technological developments and improvements in efficiency.
· Developing and maintaining positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
· Collaborate with key business development partners to target new opportunities.
· Build and maintain customer relationships, including helping to manage customer expectations of project deliverables.
· Develop initiatives to continuously drive growth and expansion of the Project Engineering group. This may include customer site visits to interface with and provide innovative solutions to meet customer requirements/needs.
· Planning of engineering resources, feeding into the SIOP process.
· Conduct ongoing assessments of both new and existing products and systems to evaluate their potential within the organization.
· Control engineering costs by monitoring budget performance of engineering project execution.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES
· 10 years of applicable job experience in Controls Design Engineering.
· A minimum of 2 years of experience in a management or supervisory level
· PLC Controls and instrumentation experience
· Process support systems such as Hydraulic and pneumatic equipment experience (PLUS)
· 5 years’ experience in panel design 5 years’ experience in drawing development using AutoCAD
· Bachelors in mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field
