Tool Design Engineering Manager manages the design and development of tools and machinery to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Leads design reviews to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineering Manager provides expert input to resolve design issues and innovate solutions. Oversees the design, fabrication, sourcing, and procurement of fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Additionally, Tool Design Engineering Manager ensures design documentation and models for the fabrication of tools are accurately prepared. Controls budgets, costs, resource allocation, and materials required for tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Tool Design Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Tool Design Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Garver's Fayetteville, Arkansas Aviation Design Center is looking for a project manager to join our diverse, skilled design team. TheAirfield Design Center Project Managerwill have the opportunity to manage the design of complex, large, multiyear projects throughout the United States. Some representative projects include: runway extensions for Trans-Atlantic flights, utilizing Styrofoam pavement sections in challenging geotechnical situations, and terminal extensions at major commercial airports. TheAirfield Design Center Project Managerwill be supported in their efforts by an accountable, organized staff of experienced aviation civil engineers, electrical engineers, hydrological modeling specialists, and CAD technicians. This position is suited to technically savvy engineers who thrive on collaborating with colleagues to create lasting, quality infrastructure.
    Responsibilities for this role include:
    • Project management of aviation design projects for commercial service and general aviation airports
    • Construction administration and oversite for aviation clients
    • Collaborate and coordinate with multi-disciple design engineers and technicians
    • Provide outstanding client service
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
    • Licensed Professional Engineer
    • 8 years of experience in civil engineering, preferably with aviation project experience
    • Responsive and consistent in communications
    • Proficient in design software Packages such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, aviation specialty programs
    • Travel will be required with occasional overnight stays.
    Preferred Skills
    • Previous experience working with a multi-disciplined team while overseeing project execution
    • Experience in managing construction projects at airports
    • Licensed pilot or other aviation-related experience
