Tool Crib Attendant jobs in Wasilla, AK

Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Tool Room Attendant

  • Essential Job Functions:

    • Physically moves and lifts items or materials (40-50 lbs.)
    • Receives, inspects, verifies, stages, and organizes all tools
    • Verifies tool descriptions, quantity, and quality against vendor documentation and company purchase orders
    • Loads/unloads incoming/outgoing tools, properly securing all outgoing loads
    • Manages and tracks tool inventories
    • Inspects quality of tools upon receipt and before issuing
    • Inspects tools before issuing, identifying unsafe tools and fixing or removing them from inventory
    • Immediately reports shortages and damaged materials and tools
    • Keeps shop/warehouse/storage areas safe, clean and in order
    • Uses small hand tools and operates tool/material handling equipment
    • Ability to learn and adhere to the Delta Constructors safety culture
    • Other duties as assigned

    Required Minimum Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
    • Work Experience: Experience as Tool Handler/Attendant preferred
    • License/Certifications:

    o Current and valid Driver’s License

    • Post Job Offer Requirements:

    o Take and pass a pre-employment drug test

    o Alaska locations: Take and pass a Fit-for-Duty Examination


    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

    • Ability to be a self-starter
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Knowledge in conducting inventory check
    • Good understanding of tool handling, logistics and inventory function
    • General computer skills to include the use of Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel and the ability to learn receiving and inventory programs
    • Knowledge of proper handling of tools/materials and equipment use conducive to conditions and its use
    • Knowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to materials and equipment use and operation
    • Ability to use time efficiently in order to complete projects on time
    • Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
    • Ability to handle stress and possess positive attitude even in difficult or challenging situations
    • Ability to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by the department
