Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Job Summary:
Under general supervision, operates the tool room for Logistics Readiness Center Maintenance Division.
Performs receipts, storage, or over the counter issue and turn-in of tools, (e.g., counter bores, reamers, die sets, milling cutters, hammers, hand saws, pliers, common hand tools, etc.); power tools (e.g., air wrenches, electric drills, air and electric grinders, etc.); and calibrated tools (e.g. standard and nonstandard gages, torque wrenches, dial indicators, etc.) in a tool room.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain an inventory of the tool room and monitor the tool room.
Secure all of the contents of the shop at the beginning and at the end of the shift.
Distribute tools and other items as per ASO and LRC SOPs.
Keep the consumable supplies stocked.
Complete a regular inventory of the tool room in a written report.
Ensure that the workspaces are kept clean and that all safety regulations are followed.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Advises PM, and Operation Supervisor on maintenance status, equipment requirements, problem areas and corrective action.
Possesses required knowledge in the use of hand tools, machine tools, and other equipment necessary to perform assigned duties.
Ensures that equipment received is stored in the proper location and documentation is posted in GCSS-A within the required time.
Maintain current publication either by IETM or ETM’s, TB’s, TM’s, MAM’s, SOUM’s and MWO’s as required.
Turn in unserviceable tools and equipment in a timely manner. Contact ASO Supply prior to requesting turn in.
Comply with AR 750-25-1, Army Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment calibrations and turn-in requirements.
Comply with regulatory guidelines for Army Publication and CRAM reporting procedures IAW, AR 25-1.
Performs other duties as assigned as Publication clerk and TMDE monitor.
Responsible for conforming to all safe work practices and procedures.
Direct and conduct packing operations for outbound shipments as directed by the ASO PM or Logistics Readiness Center.
Reports damaged or worn out equipment to the LRC, Chief of Maintenance.
Performs data entry in the preparation of logs and reports.
Ensures timely turn-in of equipment scheduled for calibration.
Keeps tools and cabinets organized to facilitate timely issue.
Demonstrates safety practices in day-to-day operations.
Maintains cleanliness of tool room.
Minimum Qualifications:
This role may require company vehicles to be driven.
Knowledge of Automotive parts and equipment.
Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office systems.
Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident.
Applicant should be familiar with US military Technical Manuals.
Must have or be able to obtain licenses/certifications as needed to perform duties.
Must be able to complete paperwork associated with the position as required.
Must possess and continuously maintain a current State of California Driver’s License.
Must possess working knowledge of Logistics information system (LIS) and Software Application Programs (SAP).

Tool Room Attendants frequently lift and carry tools, and/or equipment that weigh up to 10 pounds.
The attendants may occasionally handle items that weigh up to 40 pounds.
Hand trucks, dollies, and other workers are available for assistance with heavier items.
Work is generally conducted in a shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the out-of-doors area with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.
Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs; stooping; climbing; prolonged standing; prolonged sitting.
Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory in certain areas.
Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and published Company work rules.
Pay Rate: $23.37 per hour, plus Health & Welfare fringe dollars as defined under the applicable Collective Bargaining
Agreement.
