Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Job Summary: Provides customer service to the machine shop floor allowing the manufacturing process to flow smoothly.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Maintains inventory of machine tooling and fixtures
    • Prepares tooling and fixtures for machine set-ups
    • Issues tooling and fixtures to Machine Shop work centers
    • Receives and stocks tooling and fixtures from internal/external sources
    • Manages Machine Shop perishable tools, inventory and supplies
    • Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or a Health Safety and Environmental team members
    • Participates in proactive teams to achieve departmental and company goals
    • Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • 2-4 years’ experience in related position preferred
    • Ability to operate hand trucks and manual machines
    • Must have computer and technological skills
    • Possess good organizational and time management skills
    • Capable of effectively presenting information to internal and external groups
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form
    • Must pass background check and drug screen

    • Continuous standing, stooping, kneeling and walking
    • Repetitive use of hands
    • Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
