Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. This hourly role follows the Scotts / Hawthorne step pay progression scale and typically starts at $19.25 per hour and is paid weekly.
Scotts / Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
What you'll do in this role :
Understand and apply the standard operating procedures (SOP) involved in receiving new items and the allocation of these items into Parts Crib stock, staging for upcoming Work Orders, or any other special requirements dictated by company policy.
Maintain and update records within SAP for incoming and outgoing stock within the Parts Crib.
Perform daily, cyclic, and annual counting of materials, equipment, merchandise or supplies in stock in the Parts Crib in accordance with SOPs and company policy.
Report discrepancies between physical counts and computer records to the Maintenance Operator Group Lead for disposition.
Provide excellent customer service when supporting Operations, Maintenance, and other department personnel while performing daily duties in the Parts Crib.
Assist individuals with properly identifying parts by utilizing several different modules within SAP, Excel-based parts lists, and operator manuals.
Support the engineering and maintenance departments with proper stocking levels of spare parts, new parts, and other equipment as identified by the responsible party.
Be able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
Be able to lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily duties.
Perform a backup role for other Crib Attendants if they are unavailable.
Perform additional maintenance-related duties as required.
What you'll need to be successful :
At least one (1) year of experience with industrial maintenance work practices to understand job planning, parts layouts and staging, and job completion.
Proven mechanical aptitude highly desired.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong working knowledge and experience (minimum of 3 years) with computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Preferred one (1) year of experience with CMMS software (SAP highly preferred).
Excellent communicator (written, oral, presentation) and demonstrated excellence in customer service skills.
Team player requiring minimal supervision, with the ability to draw on the expertise and knowledge of the maintenance team to deliver strong positive results.
