Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Description:
The qualified candidate will be primarily responsible for receiving, storing and issuing tools.
Job Duties:
*Maintain tooling lists, files and logs
*Maintain records of tools issued to employees
*Work from Tool Set-up Sheets to prepare jobs for manufacturing
*Relieve tooling when necessary
*Break down tooling from finished jobs
Requirements:
*3 years tool crib experience (3 years CNC Lathe or Mill machinist experience may be substituted in
lieu of tool crib experience)
*Basic understanding and ability to read and interpret blueprints
*Good overall knowledge of tooling (Lathe, Mill, End mills and drills)
*Ability to use tool-setter and set up all jobs in tool holders
*Ability to use micrometers and calipers
*Ability to operate a computer and have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
*Ability to communicate and interact well with other employees
