Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. JOB POSITION: Tool Maker/Grinder
As a TOOL MAKER/GRINDER you will setup and run grinding equipment, Bridgeports, and assist with the creation of custom fixtures and tooling as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Read and understand blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions of finished workpiece
· Set-up/ run new jobs
· Make improvements to re-occurring jobs
· Maintain tooling and machines in the department to standard
· Learn Bay state machine’s parts that require grinding or secondary operations.
· Assist management as needed.
· Maintain excellent documentation for any grinding or secondary operations performed
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
· High school diploma or GED required
· Preferred 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified of a TOOL MAKER OR GRINDER
· Reliable
· Excellent communications skills with a strong team attitude
· Demonstrated attention to detail, quality and accuracy
· Effective organization skills
