Tool Crib Attendant jobs in Elgin, IL
Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Requirements
PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:
Perform various tool-room related duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately prepares tools requirements per work order travelers.
Build and grind tools according to specifications.
Issue tools and equipment to machinists and maintain records of tools and equipment issued and returned
Inspect and measure tools for defects, visually or using inspection tools and report damage or wear to supervisors
Maintain inventory of the Tool Crib
Determine tooling needs and purchase tools in a proficient and cost efficient manner
Assist in general CNC operations as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of CNC machine tooling
At least 2 years of related Tool Crib experience
Ability to speak and write in the English language
