Abstracter

The Title Team is seeking a Searcher/Typist at our Bismarck office!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. This is an in office position.
Other duties may be assigned.

• Searching the public record and historic data and abstracting information essential to determining land titles and encumbrances, restrictions and covenants.
• Gathering and documenting the chain of title for parcels of land.
• Preparing various types of title reports.
• Examine documentation such as mortgages, liens, judgments, easements, plat books, maps, contracts, and agreements in order to verify factors such as properties' legal descriptions, ownership, or restrictions
• Confer with realtors, lending institution personnel, buyers, sellers, contractors, surveyors, attorneys and courthouse personnel in order to exchange title-related information or to resolve problems

Requirements:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong typing/keyboarding skills.
• Reliable and detail-oriented.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with land documents and land title is preferred.
• Responsible for researching property records and preparing documents and information for real estate transactions
• Provide a high level of customer service, including the building of strong relationships with our customers and colleagues
• Experience in the real estate, title, or banking fields a plus, but not required
