Testing Technician, Sr. performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment and records and analyzes results. Records data from testing in standard formats and provides results to product and engineering teams. Being a Testing Technician, Sr. assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing. May recommend changes in testing methods or equipment changes. Additionally, Testing Technician, Sr. requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Testing Technician, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.     Job Description :
    General Responsibilities:
    Perform field and/or laboratory compliance testing on materials generally used in the construction industry (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel). Training with certification is done in house by experienced project managers using online resources. Communication skills are important as there will be daily interaction with project managers, engineering technicians, and contractor representatives. A good driving record is important as company trucks are used to mobilize staff to project sites and to deliver samples to our laboratory for further testing and analysis. Field laptops are generally provided to tabulate, prepare, and submit digital reports as work is performed for daily transmittal to the Terracon Project Manager. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas. Adhere to strict safety standards.

    Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
    • Under close supervision of higher level technicians or staff professionals, learn and assist with tasks and perform basic testing and observations duties.
    • Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
    • Communicates information to Project Manager and discusses accuracy of data in preparation for submittal.
    • Submits documentation and communicates results as directed by the Project Manager
    • Maintains assigned equipment.
    • Follow safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
    • Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
    Requirements:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
