Being a Testing Technician assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing. Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. Additionally, Testing Technician typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Testing Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Carlson Testing, Inc. (CTI), is currently looking to fill a position for a Lab Technician in our Salem, Oregon office. We are seeking individuals with preferably 1 or more years of related experience; however, we are willing to train the right candidate. As a Lab Technician, you would be responsible for following standardized testing procedures to test construction materials such as concrete, soils, aggregates and asphalt.
You’re Responsibilities:
- Maintain and calibrate/verify testing equipment
- Adhere to ASTM, AASHTO and DOT testing standards
- Ensure that project testing requirements are met and compliant with project specifications
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license and personal transportation required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess basic math skills.
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly
