    The Aircraft Maintenance Pilot (AMP) assigned to a Guardian Flight Regional Maintenance Facility is responsible for performing maintenance check flights of company aircraft and other duties as per the duties and responsibilities listed below to the highest degree of competence and safety in compliance with all applicable 14 CFR regulatory requirements as well as company policy and procedures. The AMP will report directly to the Regional Maintenance Manager (RMM) for all duties as assigned. The AMP will be accountable to the Assistant Chief Pilot (ACP) for the region and/or aircraft fleet type assigned for compliance with pilot training requirements, qualifications, documentation, and associated tasks.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs post-maintenance operational check flights (OCF) for aircraft undergoing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance at the regional maintenance facility and at operating bases when appropriate to ensure aircraft systems are functioning in accordance with design specifications.
  • Performs in-depth preflight inspections and OCF’s for aircraft being inducted into periodic scheduled inspection events to evaluate the aircraft and report all discrepancies and anomalies found to be addressed during the inspection event.
  • Performs in-depth preflight inspections and OCF’s for aircraft being returned to service after completion of periodic scheduled inspection events to ensure all systems are functioning in accordance with design specifications and all discrepancies found during the inspection event, the incoming preflight, and OCF have been corrected.
  • Performs OCF’s and ground run checks for other system checks and tests for troubleshooting purposes as directed by the RMM.
  • Performs aircraft relocation flights as required for aircraft maintenance and operational needs.
  • Ensures aircraft quality and operational readiness after undergoing maintenance to include interior and exterior cosmetic items, emergency equipment and basic medical supplies, company and regulatory requirements, interior and exterior cleanliness, and other return to service items as required.
  • Ensures compliance with updates and revisions of Electronic Flight Bags, Pilot Operating Handbooks, Aircraft Flight Manuals, Aircraft Weight and Balance records, and Pilot Guides for aircraft being returned to service after a scheduled periodic inspection event.
  • Maintains accurate company and regulatory documentation and record keeping for risk assessment, shifts, load manifests, etc.
  • Assists the ACP with oversight of operational functions at all Guardian Flight bases in the region assigned.
  • Generates and administers an aircraft relocation checklist.
  • Interacts and collaborates with the Maintenance, Operations, Dispatch, Quality Assurance and Safety departments, as well as representatives of the FAA certificate holding district office, and other outside organizations and associations on a regular basis to implement and maintain operational best practices.
  • Accountable to the ACP for maintaining required certifications, ongoing ground and air training, with an emphasis on aircraft systems training.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by the Regional Maintenance Manager.
  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Current Commercial Pilot License.
  • Possess a valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to maintain a second-class medical certificate.
  • 1500 total flight hours, with 1000 hours as pilot-in-command (PIC), 250 hours as PIC in multi-engine aircraft, 100 hours flight during night, and a minimum of 75 hours in instrument meteorological conditions.
  • Ability to interpret, apply, and effectively communicate complex technical data and processes associated with aircraft systems.
  • Ability and willingness to participate in the after-hours and on-call support of aircraft operational needs which may include travel and working some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Possess a strong work ethic, customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Possess a strong working knowledge of 14 CFR regulations and associated guidance material applicable to maintenance and operations of aircraft operated on a 14 CFR Part 135 air carrier certificate.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with an eagerness to contribute to the overall success of the Maintenance department and the Company.
  • Must be proficient in a dynamic computerized working environment performing administrative tasks using Microsoft Office Suite programs, web-based management programs, and Enterprise Recourse Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid and current FAA A&P License.
  • Minimum of 100 hours as pilot-in-command (PIC) flying BE-90 model aircraft.
  • Experience maintaining general aviation and/or turboprop powered aircraft.
