Test Pilot Manager oversees pilots who test model aircraft to ensure compliance with federal regulations and product specifications. Determines if model is suitable for flying and testing. Being a Test Pilot Manager organizes scheduling for testing and for demonstrations for government officials or customers. Recommends changes to cockpit or aircraft to better meet the pilot's needs or to improve flight. Additionally, Test Pilot Manager assists engineering team in developing tests and maneuvers for test pilots. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the head of a unit/department. The Test Pilot Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Test Pilot Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     • Maintain equipment per operating standards
    • Follow proper safety procedures when handling and/or preparing food
    • Establish strong communication and rapport with leaders and co-workers 
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

    Pay Range

    $COMPENSATION.RANGE per hour

    Typical Physical Demands

    In this role, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.  Standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, bending over, crouching, crawling, climbing, and repetitive use of legs are done occasionally. The team member is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs and/or move heavy objects.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. All performed with or without a reasonable accommodation.

     

    Work Environment

    While performing these duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outdoor elements in all seasons. Occasionally, the employee will also be exposed to fumes and particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud at times. While performing these duties, the employee may be exposed to dirt, dust, grime, grease, oil, gas, high-concentrated cleaning solutions, etc.
