The role, at a glance:
Biamp seeks a Test Engineering Technician to support manufacturing with product testing. This is an experienced-level position. This position will support A Shift which runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00am to 3:30pm.
How you'll contribute:
Serve as the first-responder to manufacturing questions, suggestions, and problems.
System level troubleshooting and debug skills (issues may include product build problems, test setup, training, cables, test equipment, fixtures, product firmware, test software, windows OS, etc.).
Analyze and debug electronic circuits.
Read schematics and board layout files.
Repair fixtures (mechanical and electrical), cables, setup issues, failed product PCBA’s, test equipment problems, windows configuration issues.
Support training and documentation.
Support building and designing test fixtures.
Interest in software development, improvements and automation a bonus (C#, VB, python).
Familiar with JTAG, flash part programming and tools used.
Understanding of audio signal test methods and equipment.
Proficient with windows and device configuration including NIC, serial ports, USB devices, etc.
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
A successful candidate should have:
At least a two-year degree in Engineering (Electrical and Computer Science Engineering preferred).
5 years of experience in related engineering position.
Experience testing and debugging mixed signal electronic circuits. Using test equipment such as audio test equipment, DMM, and Oscilloscope.
Experience with doing circuit, cable, and fixture repairs. Can use solder equipment, hand tools, cable crimpers, etc.
Mechanical debug and repair. Ability to use hand tools.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint).
Experience with software development tools a bonus (C#, VB, Python).
Possesses excellent verbal and written skills in English.
Demonstrates excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and can work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and diffuse challenging situations using acceptable and appropriate methods.
Able to multi-task and be flexible in a dynamic work environment while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Work environment:
This is an onsite position based in Tigard, OR.
Ability to lift 10 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. periodically.
Stand or sit for long periods.
Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling, walking, stooping and/or bending.
Work in an environment that generates OSHA permissible machine noise levels.
Use tools that require fine hand skills.
Visually, observe and differentiate small moving parts.
