US Engine Valve is currently seeking an Engineer Supervisor to be an integral business partner on our leadership team. This on-site role is based in Westminster, SC. US Engine Valve is located 30 miles outside of Greenville, SC and has approximately 300 employees across 3 shifts. USEV is a manufacturing facility for Tier 1 automotive manufacturers.
Position Overview
As our Engineer Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to direct and coordinate plant engineering activities related to existing machine maintenance, new installations, and spare parts inventories, to meet company goals, budgets and profits. Improve manufacturing support and maintenance programs through training and technical support. Drive continuous improvement projects plant wide.
In This Function You Will
Drives capital projects from strategic planning phase through purchase, installation, run off and hand off to operations.
Directs master technicians engineering technicians and lead technicians’ projects and priorities.
Improves current machine tools to increase uptime, improve quality and increase productivity.
Provides engineering support to production equipment and processes, including advising maintenance.
Supervises maintenance personnel in absence of maintenance supervisor.
Advises in improving preventative maintenance programs.
Consults with suppliers for continuous improvement programs.
Trains associates on new technologies and manufacturing processes.
Maintains and follow Quality Management System and Environmental Management System requirements.
Maintain Plant layout and manage Mid-term strategy for process.
PFMEAs: understand the use of PFMEAs within our organization; develop, maintain and review PFMEAs as needed/required.
Other duties may be assigned.
Record any measurable statistics which your position impacts such as production expenses, maintenance expenses, sales volumes, payroll costs, capital expenditures, research budgets, cost of purchases, value of inventories controlled, employees supervised (direct and indirect).
Capital expenditures: $2 Million per year.
MRO expenditures: $14 Million per year.
Capital Asset Base: $60 Million
Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required.
Minimum three plus (3 ) years of experience in controls engineering, PLC programming, or related field.
Position requires technical knowledge in machine function, processes, control system, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives and electrical/electronic systems.
Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.
AutoCAD experience preferred.
Results oriented and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Complete core classes of Achieve Global.
Experience in continuous improvement activities will be considered a plus. This includes using tools such as kaizens, mistake proofing, establishing standard work practices, problem solving, pull systems, 5S, setup reduction, TPM, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited school
Position requires technical knowledge in machine function, processes, control system, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives and electrical/electronic systems. Detailed abilities in capital equipment justification, project scheduling and managerial planning. Human relations are essential.
Minimum of high school diploma or GED from an accredited school; bachelor’s degree preferred from related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility in an engineer position
