Test Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for products, systems, components, or modifications. Acts as advisor to test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and acts as a liaison to other engineering functions. Being a Test Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Test Engineering Manager typically reports to a unit/department head. The Test Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Test Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Looking for a summer internship in Mechanical Engineering? We are looking for a paid intern to join our Engineering team at our facility located in West Bend, WI. At Weasler Engineering, we are Tier one suppliers of PTO driveshafts, gearboxes and clutches for the Agricultural and Off Highway industries. As the Test Engineering Intern, you will be working alongside engineers to build, maintain, run and repair mechanical test stands while also reporting the testing you have done. Previous interns have designed, built, and ran electric regenerative 200 hp dynamometers and have even been out to the field running 250 hp tractors. Our Test Engineer Interns work directly with design engineers to help create new products for Weasler.
Our Test Engineering Internship is a full time (40 hours/week) paid opportunity for the Summer 2024 semester.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the test lab with setting up tests, running tests, and collecting data
- Participate in post test analysis
- Participate in design meetings and working sessions for the Next Generation Clutch program (and/or others)
Requirements
- Students of Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Software Engineering.
- Given the nature of the responsibilities, this internship will be onsite at Weasler Engineering.
- Student must have a mechanical aptitude, enthusiasm, and the ability and desire to learn.
