What you will be doing:

The Director Test Engineering will report to SVP Technology and Engineering. As an experienced Test Engineering leader you will be working with our testing organization to take our testing practice to the next level.

• Test Practice Strategy Development
  • test engineering strategy across all testing teams
  • defining testing methodologies, tools, and frameworks to be used across the organization
  • establishing plans to innovate
  • marketing and promoting Test Practice initiatives to a variety of audiences
• Team Management:
  • building & managing test engineering team, including testing managers
  • training, mentoring, and guidance
  • fostering cultures of community and continuous improvement
• Planning and Execution:
  • Collaborating with peers (software dev, infosec, infra, techops, etc) to ensure alignment with Testing Practice Strategy and test delivery work
  • ensures tactical and strategic test initiatives are properly planned and executed
• Test Automation:
  • Establish and build automation practice (people, process, tooling)
  • Determining approach for automation for both functional and performance
  • Identifying opportunities for automation, overseeing the development of automated test scripts, working closely with infrastructure and DevOps in the management of test automation infrastructure
• Quality Assurance:
  • Establishing quality metrics, monitoring test results, and driving improvements in test coverage and defect detection
  • Working closely with development leaders methods to improve quality
  • Working closely with tech operations leaders on the quality related metrics and the positive impact they have on operational outcomes
• Stakeholder Management:
  • Collaborating with stakeholders/delivery teams
  • understand testing requirements and priorities
  • communicates progress, issues, and risks
• Process Improvement:
  • Standardizing testing processes, tools, and roles across teams
  • Identifying areas for improvement, driving to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the test engineering function
  • Proposing, gaining alignment and implementing new tools, methodologies, or best practices as needed

What you’ll bring

Ideally your skillset includes:

• Proficiency in working with testing frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar
• Experience with performance testing frameworks and tools, such as JMeter, LoadRunner, BlazeMeter, or similar
• Experience with test case management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, Xray, or similar
• Adept with JIRA and Confluence
• Experience managing teams distributed across North America and Europe as well as contract teams
