Test Engineer interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications. Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions. Being a Test Engineer assists in the definition of internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs. Documents and analyzes test cases and provides regular progress reports. Additionally, Test Engineer ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards. Requires a bachelor's degree of Engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Test Engineer works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. VEIR is looking for a High Voltage Test Engineer to qualify first of a kind superconducting transmission line systems, including overhead, underground, and indoor installations.
The HV test engineer will lead the testing efforts, both in-house and / or at external testing facilities related to BIL testing, HI-Pot testing, partial discharge testing, impulse testing, and any other necessary high voltage qualification testing for new design infrastructure-critical superconducting transmission lines.
This individual will be responsible for identifying high voltage qualification requirements, developing, implementing, and executing a test plan to achieve qualification and certification in accordance with various applicable standards, such as : NESC, CIGRE, etc.
