Description:
This position is for a seasoned professional in Test and Validation, who works independently, measures, analyzes, and calibrates equipment on medium to large platforms/projects/systems. Trains lower level team members. Prepares equipment for complex testing on medium to large platforms, and oversees the preparation of equipment for testing on smaller to medium platforms/projects/systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Test engineer will support the Key Water cooled chiller testing activity, with oversight of chiller performance measurement and analysis
• Create key Tracking around the test data. Develop and maintain performance database, for trend analysis and predictions
• Lead real time chiller performance analysis, as data is collected in the laboratory
• Analyze and optimize chiller test operations to eliminate test lab downtime and maximize productivity
• Operate the chiller lab test system and be able to operate and complete chiller tests as needed to support lab technicians
Role Purpose:
• The purpose of this role is to expand the engineering capability of performance testing, with direct thermodynamic analysis of performance data.
• This position will be responsible for overseeing high volume chiller testing and ensuring that test technicians are collecting valid test data every test
• The test engineer will apply heat transfer and compression knowledge to quickly and accurately troubleshoot chiller operation and performance and drive immediate resolution.
• The test engineer will monitor and track historical performance for each chiller family and apply the results to future test and rating plans
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
• 5 years of HVAC industry experience
• Commercial HVAC experience
• Performance or Factory Acceptance Testing experience for commercial equipment
• Experience and general knowledge of hydronic pumping systems, Cooling Towers, Boilers, medium voltage industrial power supplies
