Terminal Manager - Medium assists in the operations of a storage/distribution terminal (bulk, package, or both) associated with a plant. Performs loading, unloading, and monitoring activities. Being a Terminal Manager - Medium maintains terminal property and equipment. Complies with all required safety policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure secure and safe operations. Additionally, Terminal Manager - Medium prepares records and reports related to shipments and inventory. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Terminal Manager - Medium works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. The purpose of this classification is to operate heavy equipment and perform manual work functions associated with construction, maintenance and repair of city streets/roads, drainage systems, right-of-way areas, parking lots, parks, recreation facilities, grounds areas, or other areas of assignment.
Employees that hold a Class A CDL will receive an additional $0.40 per hour. Employees that hold a Class B CDL will receive an additional $0.25 per hour.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; supplemented by vocational/technical training in mechanics; supplemented by three (3) years previous experience and/or training that includes heavy equipment operation and road maintenance/construction; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Licenses or Certifications: Valid State of Alabama driver’s license; valid Alabama Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is moderate work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Work requires regular and, at times, sustained performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, taste, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an outdoor environment. Performance of essential functions may require exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, humidity, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, disease, or pathogenic substances.
