Terminal Manager - Medium jobs in California

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Terminal Manager to oversee the operations of our truck yard. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage a team effectively. The Terminal Manager will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing truck yard activities, ensuring the smooth flow of operations, and maintaining a high level of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee all activities within the truck yard, ensuring the efficient movement of trucks, trailers, & cargo.
• Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance productivity and reduce turnaround times.
• Train and supervise truck yard personnel, fostering a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and facilitate ongoing training programs.
• Establish and enforce safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
• Stay informed about and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing truck yard operations.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure the proper upkeep of the truck yard, including building, equipment, and grounds.
• Schedule and oversee routine inspections and maintenance activities.
• Implement systems for efficient inventory management of trailers and other assets.
• Oversee the tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of inventory.
• Work with trucking companies and drivers to address their needs and ensure smooth operations.
• Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve issues promptly and maintain positive relationships.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience in truck yard or terminal management within the logistics industry.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in truck yard operations.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and logistics software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
