Terminal Manager - Large supervises the operations of a storage/distribution terminal (bulk, package, or both) associated with a plant. Coordinates loading, unloading, monitoring, and maintenance activities. Being a Terminal Manager - Large ensures delivery schedules are met and communicates changes or delays to shippers and customers. Implements all required safety policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure secure and safe operations. Additionally, Terminal Manager - Large prepares and reviews reports related to shipments and inventory. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Terminal Manager - Large supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Terminal Manager - Large typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     As a working Railyard Terminal Manager you will lead a complex Railyard Terminal operation with a focus on safety, administration, maintenance, train performance, productivity and working hands in all aspects of the railyard. Ability to provide strong leadership for employees, systems, and safety practices. A successful Terminal Manager possesses critical thinking, deadline driven, analytical, and communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities

    Railyard Terminal Manager

    • Leads Terminal to ensure KPIs are met, Train Performance, Lifts per Hour & Cost per Hour, etc.
    • This position is a "Working Manager" role that would require you to workout doors and stand for long periods at a time.
    • Accountable for overall P&L responsibilities
    • Develops and drives existing staff to enhance Engagement & Retention within the Terminal
    • Builds collaborative partnerships between ConGlobal and local railroad officers
    • Acts as key point of contact between ConGlobal and our customers
    • Enforces and upholds all ConGlobal rules, regulations, and policies
    • Approaches violations with care and administers disciplinary actions when required
    • Monitors and approves terminal purchases for payment & manages purchases within budget
    • Approves weekly time & attendance and ensures data is accurate and timely
    • Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure the Terminal is fully staffed
    • Owns the Training and Orientation process of all employees to ensure their ongoing success
    • Provides Terminal Metrics & Reports as needed
    • Other duties as assigned (administrative & non-administrative)

    Qualifications

    Requirements

    • Minimum 3-5 years Intermodal, Transportation, Logistics or Supply Chain Management experience
    • 5 years leadership experience
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or related experience
    • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking and time management skills
    • Excellent communication skills are mandatory
    • Proficient in Outlook and MS Office suite of products
    • Strong Work Ethic
    • Open availability required (Shifts, Weekends, & Holiday)
    • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
