Telecommunications Supervisor oversees a team of specialists to support the maintenance of an organization's telecommunications system. Coordinates the installation and repairs of telecommunication equipment. Being a Telecommunications Supervisor manages and delegates work orders and assignments. Helps solve and troubleshoot complex issues to mitigate the impact on the performance of the network. Additionally, Telecommunications Supervisor identifies and implements process improvements and leads the implementation of new technologies. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor. The Electronic Services Division (ESD) supports all goals, most directly sustaining and enhancing agency infrastructure and business processes, by improving collaboration outcomes between WSP business and technology divisions, using consistent planning processes, increasing business continuity capabilities, and providing quality communication services.
This position maintains and operates the network related security systems enveloping the WSP network, IP radio systems, and IP VoIP System. These systems are used for network device authentication, user authentication and authorization to ESD systems and network and/or radio equipment, IP network security systems, etc. This position also maintains and operates WSP CISCO-based Remote Access and VPN solutions/systems, Web security-based gateways, firewalls, and is an IT Incident team member
(meaning responds to IT incidents).
Travel:
May be required to travel statewide for agency and division functions, training, and project support. May travel on unimproved roads. May require overnight stays.
