Telecommunications Engineering Technician assists telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks. Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. Additionally, Telecommunications Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Telecommunications Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. GENERAL SUMMARY

Design Group: Performs office engineering and design related work on Public Works projects including AutoCAD / Civil 3D design work.

- Obtain Flagger Certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain for duration in position.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in engineering technology, CADD or related field and five (5) years experience in civil engineering, electrical engineering, engineering technology, construction inspection, or utility projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Recent civil design experience using Civil3d to produce utility and roadway construction plans consistent with City standards and best engineering practices.
