Diversified Utility Group (DUG) is a small (and growing) telecommunications and utilities construction company in Marshville, NC (just SE of Charlotte).
The Project Manager (PM) reports directly to the Director of Operations (DO) and leads/manages a Field Supervisor (FS) that is responsible for multiple crews. The PM manages multiple telecommunication construction projects at dispersed locations to ensure that the Diversified Utility Group (DUG) construction mission is completed at or beyond industry standards. They manage all aspects of projects simultaneously from pre-construction walk through to project close-out to ensure they are completed to standard before required completion dates and within budget. The PM primarily communicates with people and entities within the company but will systemically converse with customer representatives and supporting agencies to facilitate project completion. They utilize time management skills to complete administrative requirements while spending the majority of their time in the field preparing, inspecting, or closing out projects. The PM plans early and coordinates with the DO for assets and materials from project inception to completion. They use risk-based decision making to minimize risk to people, the company, and equipment and know when to raise decisions to the DO for assistance. The PM leads and trains FSs to prepare crews to accomplish projects and prepare them to potentially become PMs themselves. The PM creates a positive work environment and exemplifies DUG company values. They enforce DUG policies and place workplace safety and use of PPE as a top priority.
