About the Research
The Army Cyber Institute has established the Information Warfare team to examine the effects and causes of computing technology and cyber operations on misinformation, disinformation, and other aspects of information conflict. Research is needed to identify how history, cultural trends, and cyber technology development influence policy, technology adoption, and the use/ misuse of technology for cyberspace advantage. Further, as cultural practices adopt, discard, and evolve technologies, the speed at which U.S. military and government cyberspace planners can foresee and adapt is quickly overwhelmed. Research into root causes, trends, applications, and consequences of cultural influences is required to explore ways to mitigate and recover from these influences on cyberspace operations. A subject matter research assistant is sought to create research projects that will uncover and link underlying historical, cultural, and societal influences surrounding military cyber operations and emerging technologies that impact information conflict.
