POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Visual Technology Developer will be a member of the Case Western Reserve Interactive Commons, a campus wide innovation institute. The Visualization Technology Developer will support research, innovation, interdisciplinary knowledge sharing, and visualization of information for the Interactive Commons (IC). The Visualization Technology Developer will provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students to apply cutting-edge visualization technology to achieve research and learning goals, including the use of the Microsoft HoloLens, as well as the Microsoft Surface Hub, a visualization wall, a motion capture system, and other modalities. Key responsibilities will include interfacing with internal teaching and research faculty and student constituencies, as well as external corporate and nonprofit partners to understand project objectives and to work individually, or collaboratively with IC teams (other computer developers, curriculum designers, artists and graphic designers) to provide hands-on computer programming, design and development of software to create 2D and 3D visualizations to meet project objectives.

External: Moderate contact with external partners to develop visualization resources. Occasional contact with vendors in order to evaluate products and services.
Students: Frequent contact with students.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
May supervise student employees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Related field experience required.
Education/Licensing: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Certification in Microsoft HoloLens technology preferred.

Working conditions are typical of an office environment and computer rooms. Some heavy lifting up to 49 pounds may be required. Some travel may be required.
