APS Technology is searching for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager. Reporting to the CEO, the QA Manager manages day-to-day Quality related initiatives within the company, develops new procedures and policies for a complete QMS system, is responsible for implementing continual improvement strategies for all areas of the company and assists managers in identifying training needs for their respective resources. The QA Manager will oversee conformance to quality requirements through implementation of CPAR system and support all managers with internal and external audits of quality systems. The QA Manager will also manage our Customer Complaint and reporting system and will develop a supplier qualification program.
Other responsibilities include controlling standards in areas of workmanship, packaging and approved documentation for production, suppliers, supplier qualification system, evaluating potential suppliers, aiding in the selection of new suppliers and monitoring supplier performance. This position will also be responsible for overseeing quality conformance in the assembly lab and machine shop and for reporting on customer complaints and rejections. Developing methods for measuring customer satisfaction and producing customer surveys is also an important part of ensuring quality is up to APS Technology standards.
In this position, the QA Manager will participate in design and product reviews for new products being released with a quality plan where all testing and inspection are in place, ensuring APS and industry engineering standards are met for both internal development and customer sponsored projects. You will be making recommendations for equipment and personnel in implementing QMS program and supporting managers in production and engineering to ensure in-process and final inspections are performed effectively and efficiently.
We are looking for a candidate who holds a bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Quality or related discipline with 10 or more years of engineering project or production related experience as well as five or more years in a supervisory role or equivalent is preferred. Experience with implementing, auditing, and maintaining an approved ISO9001:2015 QMS is required. Experience with EPICOR ERP system is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have a background in both electronics and mechanical engineering and be comfortable in interfacing effectively with management, supervisors, and employees at all levels and must be able to communicate with suppliers and customers who are associated with quality initiatives.
Other skills required include strong computer aptitude and conversant with Microsoft Office products. This position requires both domestic and international travel, if applicable and as required to support APS global quality initiatives. Periodic travel to APS operations bases is required approximately 2-3 times per year.
