Summary/Objective The Technical Service Supervisor is responsible for managing a team to support company's products, technology, and service. Primary areas of responsibility include technical service, qualifications, and technical publications.
The TSS works actively with managers, engineers, technicians, salespersons, and customers to meet the company's technical goals and service goals.
This position requires a person to perform work with minimum supervision, exercising judgment and initiative. Duties/Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
1. Supervises technical staff that are responsible for company-wide technology. Assigns and coordinates work assignments and coordinates resolution of critical technical and procedural issues.
2. Interact with salespersons and customers to reach joint solutions on technical questions, problems, and product recommendations.
3. Work cooperatively with company management to develop strategic and tactical plans to facilitate, coordinate, and maintain the delivery of top-notch technical services, product support, and quality.
4. Control a basic pricing list and provide quotations to customers and/or customer service & sales for test programs and/or individual test events.
5. Work with company Regulatory Compliance Manager to ensure the appropriate safety measures, procedures, and training are executed in the laboratory.
6. Support company management in its growth agenda and goals.
7. Support and organize company qualifications and R&D plans.
8. Stay current with technological developments related to composites products, prepregs, adhesives, as well as management practices which involves reviewing publications, attending occasional conferences and workshops, and meeting with colleagues.
9. Visit and/or meet with customers, where required, to support any product usage needs and/or technical or quality issues on site.

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be visiting manufacturing sites and areas and may be subject to typical manufacturing hazards (moving pieces of equipment, loud noises, chemicals, and etc.).
TSS is continuously faced with several projects considered to be high priority. Project work must continue while assuring that day-to-day operations continue, and technical problems are resolved. Visits to continuing education, conferences, and management seminars are expected. Physical Demands The employee is required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time. Minimal physical exertion is required; however, employee must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m., must remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs. Travel Occasional customer visits are expected, which may include air travel.
Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in a job-related discipline. Five years of increasingly responsible professional experience in supporting/managing prepregs and/or adhesives systems. At least five years of technical experience. Strong & effective communication skills, written and spoken. Strong leadership skills. High degree of proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be a U.S. Person as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) due to export-controlled information
