Great opportunity for a CA licensed clinical laboratory scientist (CLS) interested in growing their career in the field of reproductive medicine.

Full-time position (40 hours/week, part-time negotiable) with excellent pay and benefits, daytime hours only—no weekends or evenings required. We seek a highly organized, experienced CLS/Technical Supervisor who wants to put their skills and positive attitude to use supporting a dynamic community organization.

This unique position combines clinical laboratory duties with client/donor contact. The CLS is the technical supervisor for a small laboratory at a non-profit, state and federally licensed, reproductive tissue bank.

Qualifications:

• Current valid California CLS license is required (applicants without this will not be considered)
• Bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent with strong bench skills
• Experience maintaining compliance with CLIA, FDA, CA DPH, or similar regulations highly desired

Skills:

• General lab skills including use of light microscope and centrifuge, accuracy in labeling and measuring, lab documentation, and infection control techniques
• Lab oversight, quality control and assurance
• Able to work meticulously with detail and high emphasis on quality
• Effective oral and written communication skills, experience writing procedures desired
• Ability to prioritize tasks while working independently and under time constraints
• Computer proficiency for data entry, word processing, email, etc.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to sperm donors and storage clients
• Able to work effectively and collaboratively with staff at all levels of the organization
• Experience performing semen analysis and/or working in a reproductive health or andrology lab (semen analysis and morphology) is a plus!

Physical Requirements:

• Requires ability to walk/stand for most of 8 hr workday.
• Requires ability to use a computer workstation, including keyboard and visual display terminal intermittently over an 8 hour workday, sometimes for extended periods of time.
• Requires working with liquid nitrogen (hazardous materials handling training will be provided).

Compensation: competitive (depends on experience).
