Position Expectations: You Will Be…
Working under the direct leadership of and accountable to the Programming Director.
Required to work at all weekend worship experiences, all worship services on Christmas Eve and
Easter, as well as other events and video shoots outside of normal working hours as needed.
Prepping and overseeing sound and other technical aspects as assigned for all weekend worship
experiences and special events.
Learning and growing in proficiency in lighting design and execution, and on stage set design.
Managing multiple projects at one time.
Collaborating with the Programming Team to provide creative input for upcoming series,
segments, and videos.
Other duties as assigned.
Desired Technical Skills...
Proficient with digital console operation and setup, able to translate across multiple console
manufacturers. Consoles to include Soundcraft Vi2000, Yamaha CL3, Midas M32 compact, Allen &
Heath QU-16 and small analog boards.
Understanding of how aux and matrix mixes are used
Understanding of analog to digital signal flow via stage patches, interfaces, DANTE and
Ethersound protocols.
Proper gain staging techniques through the entire signal chain
Knowledge and understanding of the Q-SYS ecosystem including amplifier and speaker
management as well as UCI development and implementation.
Basic networking knowledge for Q-SYS, Dante, R-Remote and wireless in-ear monitor controls.
Wireless
Sennheiser wireless for handheld microphones, headset mic packs and in-ear packs.
Know how to scan and properly adjust frequencies
Proper gain staging through the wireless system
How antenna distribution and combiners function
Proper EQ/Compression/DSP techniques for
Microphones to help eliminate feedback while still sounding natural.
Varying instruments that change on a weekly basis
Willing to learn from the existing volunteer base how things are currently run to be able to build
upon that vision to take sound to the next level.
Able to communicate effectively and train volunteers in sound operations through solid technical
knowledge and vision that aligns with the culture of Waters Edge Church.
Troubleshooting and basic equipment and cable repair/maintenance
Ability to spot audio/video sync issues and how to compensate for them at the console.
